IGSA Maryhill Festival of Speed promo

The 2007 IGSA Maryhill Festival of Speed

Me and my friend are just getting our boards out as it starts to warm up here. We’re a bit rusty from the long winter so go easy. We just longboard for fun. Also all rights to the song belong to the artists and the producers and in no way am I taking any credit for it…I just think its a great song to cruise to.

well yeah, but ramification of it, this is base on a longboard, but focus on downhill and speed.. that why it’s called speedboarding

@lb4liife haha a guy just offered me a bhangra deck for $150 and i thought about it, but i turned him down cuz i would rather have a spankin new LBL Komodo. I guess you might be tired of hearing this, but i’m torn between which flex i should get. Above all, i want it to be a smooth ride, but a close second is that this baby is gonna be my go-to and i dont want it to die on me too fast bc of the flex.. any advice? tbh, weighing like 170-200 is the WORST because flex is always split in that range

@ImaWinRAR Thanks Man! when landing tricks occasionally if you hit the very center you can bottom it out or if you dance hard but it never throws me off. also the scraps don’t even show on the bottom. As for sagging its the 7 ply board so softer flex and I’ve thrashed this thing hard and I can notice a little sag. maybe .25in or .5in. Very Very minimal and does not affect riding. busy of mine got a banghra and is selling it now to get a komodo lol. great board. you won’t regret getting it.

dang. ive watched this video at least 5 times. and now im selling my board to buy a komodo. im youre exact weight class, do you bottom out landing kickflips, bonelesses, etc? how long have you had the board/has the flex sagged since you got it?

@jackcdempsey paris 180s yes, I dont know about the inheats. I didn’t like them on my komodo so I put on durians. I like the rounded wheel better then I switched to stimulus. I like the rounded wheel and something a little smaller. your already dealing with a big board so its nice when your doing tricks or dancing to have smaller lighter slidier wheels. thats my preference though. thanks for the comment, cheers

@lb4liife Hey im thinking of getting the komodo, and i already have paris 180s and orangatang inheats. Would that go well with the board?

  • lb4liife February 18, 2012

@ironman3134 I am 175 -180 and I got the softer flex, basically the komodo is a dancing board so I would get the softer flex unless your like 200lbs or more. you want flex in a dancing board. I like it because it soaks up all the bumps and is really forgiving when doing kickflips and shuvits and bonelesses. good lucks, cheers

Hey how much do you weigh? I’m thinking about getting the komodo but I’m still unsure of what flex I should get.

@lb4liife thanks for the reply. yeah a bamboo demonseed wouldnt be much fun at 40+ down a hill haha! im going with the natural anyway as theyve run out of the burple bit disappointed but oh well i want it now lol. cheers mate

  • lb4liife February 18, 2012

@evecioul I have not tried both but I have 6 boards and 5 are bamboo and the other is the demonseed. but some of my buddies have maple boards and I hate them. I would go bamboo. I have tried every inheat wheel and every durian wheels all three duros of both, and honestly I have a hard time sliding with the inheats. I would go durian because they slide well and grip well too. I would go 83a purple. right in the middle and those should be great. thats what I have on my komodo. hope that helps

  • evecioul February 18, 2012

Im guessing thats the bamboo komodo then? I was gonna get the burple one but not 100% i do like a little bit more flex and i weigh 155 so the bamboo might be better. Do you have experience of both? Also what otangs are you using? I will mainly use it for commuting and some dancing and cant decide between the inheats and the durians

@ThatOneGuy1027 I have ridin both and the first difference is the flex, I got the flexier komodo and im 180. its got a great flex for freestylin. my buddy had the softer flex for the banghra and I found it to be really stiff. the other difference is that on the banghra the kicks raise up a little. the komodo was 150 for the board. and I like it more. loaded is a good company ( i own the dervish and tan tien) but I would go komodo. Longboard larry is awesome. hope this helped. cheers

  • lb4liife February 18, 2012

@OrionLong haha since this video I have gotten so much better on this board, kickflips shuvits manuals, my dancing has improved. ill another video up of just the komodo in about a month or so. But as for trucks, I use randal and paris trucks on all my boards. I like them both, but I know some prefer paris and since they are the same price I would say paris. and then I have bones bearings and I run otangs on all my boards as well. :) cheers
